PB 2009 Bowling - the story behind the Results

This time, sa bagong SM North Edsa Annex ginawa ang PB 2009 Bowling.  What happened was probably the most exciting and close-fight contest in the history of PB Bowling.

TEAM COMPETITION
After the 1st game, it was the Ayo-One-Jorge-Tiyong(AOJT) team that took 1st place.  They were 10 points ahead of 2nd place team Par-Auntie-Yet-Dang(PAYD), with 646 and 636 pinfalls +HC respectively.  Di rin malayo ang 3rd place with 630, Egay-Edith-Helen-JImmy (EEHJ).  Pero ang team ni Ido-Evot-Kevin-JayE(IEKJ) ay nalubog sa malalim na hukay, with more than 100 pins behind at 545.

Nung 2nd game, humataw ang EEHJ team scoring 672 pinfalls.  Sinubukang humabol ng IEKJ team by scoring 2nd place with 660.  3rd place naman ang PAYD team with 643.  Biglang bumagsak ang AOJT team with 608.

Nung 3rd and final game, dito humataw ang PAYD team, scoring the day's highest team game at 683.  Kelangan lang nilang lumamang ng 20+ pins.  At yun na nga napanalunan na nila ang Kampeonato ng 2009.
Ang EEHJ team ay nagtala ng 645, kaya sila ang pumangalawa.  Humataw din ang AOJT with 668, pero sadyang malayo ang kelangang habulin. kaya sila ay pumangatlo.  Nasadlak ulit sa lusak ang IEKJ team with 633.

FEMALE
Forthe first time in history, champion si Tita Edith.  Partida dyan may sakit pa raw sya nun at madaling mapagod, hahaha. Ang average ni Tita Edith ay mataas na 170, deserving talaga siyang manalo.  Si Lola Maam ang 2nd place with an average of 165.67.

Si Tita Edith ang highest ng Game 1, highest after game 2, and highest after Game 3.  So yes, an overwhelming victory. 

Tita Edith had the highest Game 1 score at 174.  Tita Yet has the highest Game 2 score at 166.  And Tita Dang scored the highest Game 3 and overall score at 193.

MALE
Tito Egay wins his 3rd PB Championship.  And win that win, he is now the winningest PB Bowler in history, taking the title from Tito Ayo.  Apart from the 3 Crowns, Tito Egay has 2 runner-up finishes.

During Game 1, TIto Egay is tied at the top with Tito "the Revelation" Jorge at 167.  Tito Ayo is very close @3rd place with 166.

During Game 2, it was Tito One who as #1 with 194.  Pero Tito Egay is very close with 192.  Evot was 3rd with 181.  Overall, it became a battle with Tito Egay vs. Tito One.  Ang lamang lang ni Tito Egay ay 2 pins.

Nung Game 3, si Evot ang highest score with 191.  Pero Tito Egay was again very close at 189.  And it was Tito Jorge@ 3rd with 186.

So it was a very consitent and obvious 3rd championship for Tito Egay.  Tito One settles for 2nd place, with only 1-pin ahead of 3rd place Evot.

PB Bowling Wall of Fame - Individual

Para sa mga nag-re-request, eto na po ang digitized na version ng PB Bowling Results from 2002 to 2008.  Eto yung mga laging pino-post sa Santan.

At kung  ihahalintulad naman sa Olympics ang ating PB Bowling league  ganito ang magiging resulta.  Wow, si Kevin pala ay naging Silver Medalist, at si Ate ay 2-time medalist.  Aba at si Tita Dang at si Tita Che-Che ay mga silver medalists pala.  Sayang at wala naman talagang totoong medal.  Ngapala yung isang Gold Medal ni Kevin sa Chidlren's division =).

Kung di po kayo naniniwala sa medal tally sa itaas...Aba e wala po akong magagawa binilang lang yan.  Eto po sa ibaba ang ebidensiya.  Last year, 2008, nag-tie for 2nd place si Tita Bhogs at si Tita Helen.

Best Male Bowler

Tito Ayo scored a back-to-back title last year.  Gagawa kaya siya ng back-to-back-to-back?  With a big Handicap this year, will Tito Egay score his 3rd championship Title?  Will Par break the bad spell and win his first ever championship?  Or maybe a new champion will emerge?  Maybe Tito Jorge who has registered runner-up finishes twice?  Or Tito One, the most underrated male bowler in PB who placed 1st Runner Up in 2006.  Or Tito Jim, who surprised everybody with a Top 5 finish in 2008.

Best Female Bowler
The Female PB bowlers are even more competetive than the male bowlers.  Before Lola Maam, scored her 2nd championship last year, the past 5 years had different champions.  So who will it be this year?

Will Flanax help give Lola Maam her 3rd championship?  Or will the practisado Tita Bhogs duplicate her 2007 win?  Tita Ate shocked the bowling world to win in 2006, can she repeat?  Will Tita Yet Karate her 2nd win and forget the bad performance in 2008?   Tita Helen, the 2002 champion was last year's 1st Runner-up, so she is definitely on an upswing to win this year.  Surprise, surprise Tita Edith has not won pala, so maybe her fortunes will change this year.

Pero eto ang 2009 Handicap.  We agreed last time to drop scores from 2002 (that was so long time ago).  So we only keep the past 5-year scores to compute for the Handicap.  The Ladies will have higher handicap than men, even if their averages are higher.  Ganun talaga ang computation.  Good Luck and Happy Bowling.

PB Bowling Fever 2008

PB 2008 Bowling Season is officially over. So before we move on to Christmas matters, a summary...

- Much buzz is generated by the 2000 Handicap list. Very good.
- Real intent 3 things

• Reflect more recent averages, para di rin madehado ang makakampi ng mga nangangalabasa recently
• At para din di sobrang advantage ang mga matataas na handicap, pero gumagaling naman
• Para burahin na rin ang mga pandaraya nuong 2002 (remember meron tayong "practice" day to determine handicap. pagkakaalala ko e may naglaglag ng game duon para tumaas ang handicap nila tsk tsk tsk.

- So sana maka-practice ang lahat hindi lang sa Nov 2009, para mas gumaling ang lahat.

2009 Handicap
Ganito ang pagcompute ng handicap natin for next year:
- Syempre cinompute using the averages for all the games

- Pero na drop na ang scores nung 2002 (ang tagal na nun!). Ang ginamit na pag-compute ng scores ay from 2003-2008 (so 5 years).

- Next year naman, drop na natin ang 2003 and so on. Moving 5 years bale.

- Para din naka-reflect ang mga recent scores, at nalalaman ang mga gumagaling at mga nangangalabasa

Tinitignan ni Ayo ang isa sa 5 tropeong napanalunan. Bakit kaya niya tinatago ang kaliwang kamay? May dayaan kayang naganap?



Minuwestra ni Lola Maam ang total na tropeong napanalunan. Salamat sa Flanax at mabuhay ang mga Senior Citizen.


Ang tatamis ng ngiti ng mga champion - Tito Egay, Tita Bhogs, Tita Dang at Tito Jorge. Ito ang unang beses nag-champion ni Tita Dang at Tito Jorge (kaya 50% na ngiti lang). Si Ate Bhogs naman ay back-to-back champion (kaya 90% na ngiti). At ang 3rd championship ni Tito Egay (kaya 150% ang ngiti).


Ang pilit na ngiti ng 1st Runner-Up Team - Lola Maam, Tita Edith, Tito Ido, Tita Ate. Sabi nga ni Ate Edith, sa ibang "paramihan" na lang sana sila lumaban.


Maasim na ngiti. Hindi man lang makuhang mag-plastic na ngiti ang 2nd Runner-Up Team - Tita Yet, Tito Jim, Tito Ayo, Kuya Evot. Feeling ata nila sila pa dapat ang nanalo.
