Rock Party Poll Results

To no one's surprise, Tito One's jokes are the box office hit during the Rock Party.  Di na nga masyadong bago ang mga jokes nya, pero patok pa rin.  Sabi nga nila, if it's comedy, everything is about timing.

Sealing the deal as the most promising PB joker, Dianne finishes a close 2nd place.  Wow, mukhang ito ang solid na namana kay Tito Boyet.  Good job Dianne, and more jokes to come. 

Well, pogi naman si Kevin, kaya nga di ba dalawa ang kanyang .......  Si Leoben Unyoy magaling sumayaw.  You cannot have everything.  As for Tito Jorge, mukhang lobat lang siya that night... so abangan natin more jokes from him in the future.

Obviously, 100% ang may favorite ng PB performances during the Rock Party - walang duda.  Costumes were 2nd pero malayong runner-up.    At maski anong advertise ko sa Food, e ayaw pala ng PB hahaha.  Grabe naman ang venue, walang bumoto.  It was not that bad!  

Ano ibig sabihin nito?  Next time puro performances na lang?  hahaha.

Eto hula ko sa results:

Costume -  mixed nga kasi.  Merong ang gagaling ng costumes, meron naman di talaga pang-Rock.  Kaya siguro 41%

Interview with MM/Alex - nag-enjoy nga ako dito e.  Kaso humaba lang siguro ng konti at paano ba naman alas-2 na ng madaling araw.

Food - OK naman lasa ng food.  Yun nga di lang talaga maganda tignan, pero OK ang lasa.  At sarap ng lechon.  Di ko sure kung anong tripping na food ng PB kaya 6% ito.  Maybe it was the salad?

Live Band - Di ko sure bakit 6% lang ito.  Akala ko maraming nag-enjoy with the band.  Kung 2 lang pala ang boboto dito, Tito Jim, naku ang mahal pa naman ng binayad mo.  My honest opinion once again, di bagay ang banda sa theme.  Di ko ma-gets kung bakit ka kakanta ng Lady Gaga at Calle Ocho sa isang rock party.  Worst, Mariah Carey, yan di na kayang patawarin =(.

Venue - 0%!  Ouch.  Sobrang ganda ng venue sa pictures di ba?  u did not see?  Di naman kami na-traffic sa pagpunta, di naman mahirap hanapin.   Di naman kasalanan ng venue na umulan. =) May tolda naman bilang takip sa ulan.  So na-surprise ako sa resultang ito.

Lessons Learned at mga bagay na puwedeng gamitin para sa mga susunod na PB parties.

17 days before

2 and a half weeks bago ang 50th Bday Party ni Tito Jim nagmeeting ang PB 2G para sa aming presentation.  Naka-schedule akong umalis para sa US ng July 6, so wala ng talagang schedule kundi ang Jun 30 - araw ng inauguration ni P-Noy.

Ayokong pangit ang presentation ng 2G, so nagtawag ako nung Lunes, Jun 28 para sa meeting.  Ang surprising dito, lahat puwede at lahat ay nakapunta.  Nag-lunch kami sa Mesa Grill sa Greenbelt 5.  Ang call-time namin ay 12noon.  Dumating ako ng 11:40, aba 3rd place na ko.  Even Tito Jorge was already there =)

Andun kami lahat:  Tita Ate, Tito Par, Tita Edith, Tita Yet, Tito Jorge, Tito Ayo, Tito Ido, and Tito One.  Si TIto Egay, di nakipag-lunch sa kliyente niya sa Malabon para humabol sa amin.  Inorder namin lahat ng masarap:  Crispy Hito, Crispy Lechon 2-ways, Pato-tim at Dilis-Rice.  Ay umorder din pala kami ng Lumpia.  Lahat, water lang ang ininom =). 

Sanay ata kaming lahat na nag-mee-meeting habang nag-lu-lunch.  So actually, bago pa dumating ang 2nd way ng lechon, tapos na ang concept.  Sobrang ganda talaga ng concept ng presentation ng 2G - pero di po sa akin galing ang Pinoy Rock na idea.  Di ko na maalala kung kanino, malamang kay Tito Jorge.  Pag may brainstorming meeting kasi, laging prepared si Tito Jorge (FYI.  sa kanya rin galing ang Dance Evolution idea).  So bago pa man kami matapos for lunch at go to Cofee Bean and Tea Leaf for coffee and desserts, buo na ang structure ng presentation namin =).

Di pa ko nakakapag-brainstorming meeting with PB 3G or 1G, so di ko alam.  Pero sobrang OK maki-meeting with PB 2G kasi alam mong may ma-a-accomplish sa meeting.  At ang bilis.  Buti na lang ata at sobrang iba-iba kami lahat - so meron kaming dalang ibang "gift".  Parang merong unwritten role sa bawat-isa.

TITO JORGE:  factory ng mga ideas.  laging creative. laging parang bago.
TITO IDO: idea processor.  Iisipin niya kung paano i-e-execute ang idea at kung ano ang issues at risks.
TITO PAR: would always do the practically check.  Kaya ba yan in 2 weeks?  Exag ba yan,  OK ba yan?
TITA EDITH:  decisiveness.  Sya mag-lo-lock ng concept.  "Yan na yon!".  Para maka-focus.
TITA ATE: validation.  "Par, puwede ka mag Freddie Aguilar". maganda yan, parang di maganda yan.
TITO AYO: run scenarios.  Magtatanong ng "paano kung"
TITO ONE: audience advocate.  Sye magsasabi kung magugustuhan ba ng audience(PB) ang gagawin
TITA YET: people-person. sya makakaisip ng mga nakalimutan namin. sya rin mag-no-notes.
TITO EGAY: quality-audit.  Parang devil's advocate.  Would it work?  What won't work.

Di lahat kami kasing galing si Tita Edith o Tita Eyan mag-perform.  Pero that's OK.  Ang importante ata e you bring something to the table.  Ano ang cino-contribute mo?  At ano ang cino-contribute mo na unique sa iba?  that's the bottomline.

So minsan, maski lunch meeting lang, malaki pala ang matututunan mo.

Para sa PB Abroad: Tito Jim's Rock Party

Aksidente lang, pero alam nyo bang lagi akong may pasalubong galing sa mga PB abroad hahaha mang-inggit ba?!  Kaya tuloy na-i-inspire ako lagi na i-kuwento ang buong pangyayari sa mga happenings.

So para sa mga PB abroad, at sa mga andito na gustong sariwain ang naganap with pictures, eto na po ang Tito Jim's 50th Rock Bday Party with matching comments and annotation.  Warning:  this is the longest PB Blog post ever.  Kumuha muna ng juice o kape.  OK?  Let's go.

7pm:  Umulan ba naman!  hahaha.  Tinext ko si Tito Jim to tell him na Signal no.3 na, i-ca-cancel ba ang party?  Sayang ang unang ayos ng venue, kelangan i-re-arrange dahil sa ulan.

Eto ang picture ng venue: Aguirre Garden Resorts.  Ang masasabi ko lang:  ang ganda sa picture =)

8pm:  Marami talaga ang na-late, kasi nga for sure traffic, dahil sobrang lakas ng ulan.  Konti pa nga lang ang mga non-PB guests.  Pero finally, nakakain na rin kami ng mga oras na ito. 

Eto ang lechon.  Maski alas-9 na malutong pa rin =).  Aside from lechon, we had "sauteed vegetables", na umaapaw sa itlog ng pugo at hipon.  Meron ding mushrooms in mushroom sauce(korek!), chicken cordon bleu, at pork pot roast.  Well, di naman exactong mga ganun, pero malapit na dun at saka mas magandang pakinggan di ba hehe.  Meron din nga palang mini salad bar. 

9PM.  The program started.  Iniba ng program team ang pagkaka-sunud-sunod dahil nga late na nag-start

OPENING up the program are our hosts:  Tito Egay and Tita Yet.  Sinimulan nila ang programa ng batuhan ng mga jokes.   Para lang nagkukuwentuhan.  Very nice and effective.

The hosts introduced the band.  habang kumakain, tumugtog ang banda.  Unfortunately for the band, ako ay medyo rock purist.  Alam nyong ako ay exclusive rock music.  So major disappointment for me =).  A band singing mega pop songs - e Rock Party ito e.  Mali!  Anyway, maybe yung iba merong objective opinion.  Sorry.

anyway, back to regular programming.

After dinner, Tito Jim gave his WELCOME REMARKS.

After the speech, The Lising Family had the opening number.  Unang number is from cute little Andrei.  Unang tumugtog e Michael Jackson.  Patay, di yon ang dance number nya.  Kinabahan ang marami dahil baka topakin  sya at mawalan ng gana.  Buti na lang, hindi.  Nung tumugtog ang Justin Bieber, nagkayarian na.  Humataw na ng todo ang Andrei sa saloy ng makabagbag-damdaming - Baby, baby...

After Andrei's number, JayE gave his message to Tito Jim.

Shiela also gave her birthday message and wish.

AND NOW...the Performances start. 

Tito Jorge and Tita Edith took over the hosting work for the performances.

First up, 1G

Ang 1G presentation ay 2-song band performance...Miyembro sila ng banda na mag-pe-perform ng Classic Rock Songs.  Let's meet the 1G band.

On drums is Lolipot.

On guitar and back-up vocals are Nanay, Ditse and Lola Tiyang.

The first 1G Band song was Laguna by Sampaguita.  It was a great performance na gumulat sa buong PB.  Kasi, ang hirap kayang kantahin ng Laguna and 1G performed to the max(as you can see in the picture).

After the 1st song, nag-bigay sila ng messages.  In the picture below, Tiyang was giving her message.

and, their 2nd song was even better than the first one.  Kumanta ang 1G ng Handog.  Inimbata nga nila si Tito Jim to jam with their band.  Ang kanilang message for Tito Jim:  "tatanda ka rin, pero ang maiiwan mong handog sa PB ay ang pagiging isip-bata at pagiging masayahin".  hehehe

Next presentation is from 3G.

Ang theme ng presentation nila ay School of Rock.  Great idea, bagay na bagay sa kanilang lahat.

Here are the 1st 3G batch preparing for the opening.

RapRap and Unyoy performing We Will Rock You by Queen.  We expect nothing less from these two.  matinding performance.

Next song was by JayE, with the JapRock glamour girls Kathleen, AJ, Julienne as the back-up.

Next performer is Best Dressed Denniel, who showed his versatility and can perform anything.

Carl took on the next song.

Sayang, ang wala sa picture ay ang performance ni Karen.  Kasi ang ating official cameraman at camerawoman ay kasama sa performances.  Sayang di natin na-capture ang matinding performance ni Karen.  Ganito kasi, inispin nya ang gitara ng malakas, kaso mali ang ikot so medyo tinamaan sya malapit sa mukha, at halos madapa-dapa.  E paano ba naman naka-rubber shoes na may 3-inch na takong hehe.

2G Performance

Ang presentation ng 2G ay ang 50 years sa buhay ni Tito Jim thru Pinoy Rock.

Si Par ang unang nagperform - Anak ala Freddie Aguilar, tungkol sa kabataan ni Tito Jim.  Bago mag-perform sabi ko kay Par, "Naku, Par medyo maganda ang video na ginawa ko for Anak, kelangan mong galingan para mapansin ka".  Ang sagot ni Par:  "Ah, mapapansin ako".

True enough.  Mahusay na performance.  Mahirap kantahin ang Anak at anumang kanta ni Ka-Freddie.  Pero mega-perform si Par at carry niya ang Anak, with live vocals.  Subukan nyong kantahin ang Anak to know na sobrang hirap kantahin nito.

Next stage is about student life - Tita Ate is female Freddie performing Estudyante Blues. Without looking at the lyrics, Ate gave an all-out performance.  Nag-practice ng matindi!

Pagbibinata is next.  With the Hagibis performance of Tito Jorge, Tito Egay, Tito Ido, Tito One and Tito Ayo.  They performed 2 songs:  Katawan and Legs

ah, mukhang serious na serious di ba.  Performance level of course.

Kita nyo sabay-sabay naman talaga, sabi nila may nahuhuli daw.  Pictures don't lie! hehe.  Kitams  parang practice ng husto =).

Next is Tito One performing Laklak.  Naku naman, Laklak by Teeth, maski ata natutulog e kaya ni Tito One.  So once again, a resounding performance.

Next is Pag-aasawa at pag-a-abroad told through an Aegis medley.

Tita Eyan filled-in last minute para sa absent.  She performed Luha.  Sa mga meron nagulat pa sa amazing performance ni Tita Eyan (kasi nga sub siya), e di nyo siya lubusang kilala =).

Eto ang proof:  maski sa dilim, kitang kita nyo ang energy and passion niya while singing Luha.  Fantastic!

Tita Yet tried her hardest to reach "Halik" Aegis level.  As you can see, bigay-na-bigay talaga siya with matching facial expressions.

Next is Tukso by Eva Eugenio - alam nyo kung tungkol saan ito.

With Tukso as Eva, Tita Bhogs dazzled and surprised everyone.  Sino makakapaniwala na ito ang kanyang 1st PB solo star performance.  Para siyang seasoned professional at natural ang acting hehehe.

Next is Awit ng Barkada - tungkol sa mga problema, kasama na ang sa pera at utang =).

Tito Par, Tito Jorge and Tito Egay performed ala APO.  Considering last minute changes - a very natural ang endearing performance from the game na game trio.

And the final solo performance was the mother of all performances.  This was Tita Edith performing Bonggahan by Sampaguita.  Mula ulo hanggang paa - Sampaguita level ang acting ni Tita Edith with matching live vocals.  I think this was Ate Edith's best PB performance ever - in the history of all performances.  It was really mind-blowing.

As encore, the 2G performed Salamat.  Tungkol sa lungkot at kaligayahan at sa "iba ang may pinagsasamahan"

Doon na po ang nagtatapos ang mga presentations ng bawat generation. 

Tapos na ang presentations, pero di pa tapos ang program =).  Actually marami pang special numbers.

Unyoy and Rap-Rap performed a rock-rap-randb dance number.  Astig as always

Next number of the party is the Comedy Bar portion.

Dianne told a really funny joke tungkol sa mga "comunista".  hehehehe

Then Kevin.

Next jokers are Lolipot and Lola Maam.  Ang joke nila ay tungkol sa "pera".  Well ang gift din nila ay tungkol sa pera - so bagay na bagay. =)

Camae, Dianne, Carl and Tita Edith told a joke tungkol sa aso at sa baboy.

After the jokes, Tita Vangie escorted Tito JIm for the Cake-Cutting Ceremony.

Gift-giving naman ang next.  Tita Ate gave a gift.  Well, tungkol sa pera na naman hehehe

And finally, Tito Jim gets to realize one of his dreams - to sing Bon Jovi with the band.

after Tito Jim, marami pa naki-jamming with the band.  And then, around 1am nagsimula na ang interview with MM and Alex.  Naghiwa-hiwalay na ang PB almost 2am.
