I still don't know what to make of Manny Pacquiao the evangelist. It took me a very long time to relate to Manny Pacquiao the congressman, so I am really finding it difficult to appreciate all the bible quotes and the religious reference. Media, especially the US reporters had been very kind, or maybe just sarcastic. Are they afraid of a backlash? After all, how can one criticize a religious person.
The cover of June 7's USA Today had Manny Pacquiao in the cover. And in the Sports section headline read
Pacquiao's faith becomes his driving force.
