New Year (or New Decade) Resolution

Sinasabing ang 2010 ay New Decade, so new year na new decade pa. 

Ano ang New Year's Resolution mo?  Kung nahihiya puwedeng mag-post ng Anonymous.  Masaya sigurong mabasa ng kapwa ka-PB ang new year's resolution maski Anonymous.  Subukan natin ha?

Maligayang Pasko bakit di ka Masaya?

So, for the first time in many years, naranasan ng PB ang totoong Paskong Relax.  Pero iyon na nga ang nakakatawa diyan.  Dati kasi di ba, gustung-gusto talaga ng PB ang Paskong Relax.  Pero I guess hindi naman ganun ka-relax.  Nung Dec 25, pumunta kami kila Tita Edith.  Not sure nga kung sino ang pupunta dun, ang sure lang namin ay ang Domingo family, syempre.  So andun din pala ang buong Mesina family at kami nga ni Ayo.  Actually, makikikain lang talaga kami e, kasi alam nyo na hindi available sa Pilipinas ang ingredients ng mga special dishes ko. 

Iyon pala, si Tito Jim e blog na ng blog at naghahanap na rin ng magagawa.  Kami naman naiwan ko ang poker set sa isang kotse.  Wala rin kaming cards or anything.  Ang mga 3g naman ay nagplaplano ng gagawin sa gabi.  In summary, wala rin kaming magawa.  Well, syempre nagkuwentuhan at kumain ng masarap na food (buti na lang).

Which probably explains the current PB Poll hehe.  Na 75% of the voters said their Dec 25 was kaka-boring. hehehe

PB on Christmas Day - Dec 25

Wala naman kasing preparasyon saka di naman kumpleto ang PB, pero nagkita-kita pa rin sa araw mg Pasko. 

Simple lang ang program, pero ok naman.  Panalo din ang pagkain.  Merong CHicken Galantina, Lechon Kawali, Chop Suey, Pork Rhumba, Shrimps, Steamed Lapu-Lapu.  Sikat pa rin ang mangga at bagoong yum yum.

At syempre ang pinakahihintay ng lahat pag araw ng Pasko...

Yehey!  as always, everybody happy pag merong pilahan.  OK lang kung medyo konti ang pila today, ang importante e merong spirit of Christmas.  Ganunpaman, sobrang saya, pero sana next time kumpleto na para lalo pang mas maging masaya.

Caroling & Noche Buena

Walang exag, mga 40 ang nanga-ngaroling sa bahay naman sa isang gabi.  Di ko nga alam kung saan sila nanggagaling.  Kakabilib din dahil ang bahay namin ay nasa dulo na nga ng village, e nadadayo pa kami.  Nakakasawa na rin ang "....kami'y pawisho,  sensya na (  ) kami namamasko".  So kanina, sabi ko kumanta naman sila ng hindi pamasko.

Merong kumanta ng Narda (Kamikazee), ng High (Speaks) at ng Pare Ko.  Meron din kumanta ng Single Ladies at Poker Face, meron ding nag-rap ng Gloc9.  Pero ang kakagulat, ang unang kanta ay "Bakit Kung Sino Pa, ang siyang marunong magmahal",  natawa talaga ako dito at binigyan na kaagad ng pera para itigil na.

After that, niyaya ako nila Carl and Carlo na mag-noche-buena sa kanila.  Nice!  Daming pagkain.  Meron kaming spaghetti, ham, leche flan, ube, barbecue, bread, at macaroni salad.  Dami rin naming napagkuwentuhan including CSI matters, nagsimula ito sa pagkawala ng pera/pila ni Gab.  Totoo pala iyon, kalungkot naman.  Anyway, teka huwag na nating ikuwento dito ang mga CSI matters hehehe.  Live na lang sa susunod na pagkikita.

Grabe, alam nyo ba ang natatanggap na ng mga bata sa pilahan ay around 5,000 pesos?  Grabe na ito, talagang negosyo na pala ito.  Nagtanong tanong din ako sa mga pumila kung magkano nakuha nila.  pero kelangan kong itago ang kanilang pagkatao, dahil daw baka humingi pa kayo ng balato.  OK?  game.

Tempura at Technology

Last night, nag-dinner ng mga Binan PB Boys.  Di ba nga di sila maka-spell (hehe), so kumain na lang kami at nagkape.  Nag-japanese dinner kami and then Starbucks.  We each had the bento sets - at lahat kami may tempura.  Afterwards, nag-Frapuccino naman kami - nag-co-complete kasi ako ng stickers planner for Tita Rhoda.

Ang topic namin over coffee ay mga technological innovations.  Ayos ba?  Pinaguusapan kasi naman kung sino ang mga pinakamayayaman na tao sa mundo, at kung bakit sila mayaman.  Ang sagot:  magaling silang mag-imbento at mag-innovate. 

Pinag-usapan namin ang pagbagsak ng mga Beepers, at ng Encyclopedia - di kasi nakabagay sa panahon.  Nasabi rin namin na ang next na magiging pinakamayaman sa buong mundo ay yung makakaisip na magdadagdag sa CELLPHONE.  Siguro mga 4 bilyong tao sa buong mundo ang may cellphone, so kung maisip mo kung ano ang idadagdag dun - wow!  posible ka talagang yumaman.

Over the years, kung anu-ano na ang nasa cellphone:
- Camera siyempre.  kung sino nakaisip nito, mayaman na ngayon
- Wifi, Bluetooth kaya nga merong access sa Facebook, Twitter etc.
- TV/Radio, lalo na yung Chinaphone
- Games
- Maraming applications sa iPhone (meron ngang lighter at beer di ba?)
- Accessories: mga dekorasyon, case, necklace etc.

Ang tanong, ano kayang next na ilalagay sa cellphone na bebenta sa maraming tao?
- Sabi ko Payong.  Why not?  Cellphone na may payong, di ka na mababasa =(
- Cellphone na may swissknife.  hehe para maraming gamit
- Cellphone na may ihian hehe.  pag may naka-imbento nito siguradong yayaman.

The Inside Story - more story of the PB Golden Party

1) Welcome to the Family, Aix.

This year we welcome Ayka to the unending world of Pagpapapila.  Ang pag-pila, merong limit, pero ang pagpapapila habang buhay.  So Aix, sorry it has just begun. =(.  

Ngapla Aix.  Marami pala ang pumuri sa golden outfit mo kahapon.  Lalo ka raw gumanda =).  O ayan, di bale ng wala kang trabaho, at least maganda ka naman pati damit =).

2) More of Aix and the favorite part of the Day

I asked some 3Gs today about their favorite part of the PB Golden party.  Siyempre Pilahan ang sagot nila.  Pero gusto rin daw nila ang PB Boys presentation at ang overall tribute ni Par including Par's speech.

Ang di nyo pa alam, nung nagpapila pala si Aix - eh hindi muna pumila ang mga malalaking 3G.  Puro maliliit pala muna ang pumila at umalis muna yung iba.  Well, until nga tawagin sila ni Ayka.  Nice di ba?  Nahihiya rin naman pala ang mga malalaking 3G - sa mga kapwa 3G!

Tinanong nga ako ng mga 3G kahapon kung gaano katagal na kong nagpapapila - the answer is 17 years, at pumila ako ng 19 years. Pero siyempre isipin natin kung gaano katagal nagpapapila si Tito Egay (our mentor dati sa pilahan), sila Tito Jorge, sila Tito Jim, Tita Edith, Par, Ate at lalong lalo na sila Lola Maam at Ditse. haha.


3)  Speeches
 
Marami rin pala ang nagsabi sa akin na sobrang na-touch sila sa anecdote ni Ate at sa speech ni Sister Vicky.  I agree.  Very heartfelt speeches and anecdotes indeed, lalo na yung kuwento ni Ate about the school incident na kakatawa - with matching picture taking.

Meron ding mga nag-i-intriga sa speech ni Tita Bhogs ha.  Pero live na nating idiscuss wag na dito  hehehe
 
4) Gab

And the only person to correctly answer the X8 Spelling question is Gab.  And the word was fluorescent.  Marami talagang nagkakamali sa spelling niyan.  Congratulations Gab! 

Also, many were surprised by Gab's dance performance yesterday.  Siguro nalimutan na ng mga tao na Gab was Best Child Performer in the PB Filmfest only 3 years ago.  So I guess, Gab is just expanding his repertoire of talent.  So pakaingat kayo kay Gab - Actor, Performer, Dancer, Math Genius, at Magaling sa Spelling.  A quintuple threat.  At pogi pa nga pala sabi ni RapRap, sorry.  So 6-times threat.

What a Golden Day - Highlights of the PB Golden Party

Let's recap what transpired during the Dec 20 Golden Party by citing the Highlights and the Lowlights. In no particular order.

1. GOLDEN COSTUMES
Akala ko talaga 4 o 5 lang ang mag-co-costumes, dahil medyo kakalito ang announcement kung kelan ba magsusuot nito.  Pero really nice.  Yung mga nag-costumes talagang cinareer.  Not sure kung sino ang 3rd, 4th and 5th placers, pero malamang si Ms. Imelda ay isa dun.  O baka naman si Tita Ate, Tita Yet, or Tita Edith.   Favorite ko rin ang costumes ni Meg and Pia, talagang 'out of the box'.

Well-deserved victories for Unyoy and Tita Helen.  Galing ng costumes and performance.  Ang frustration lang ay, bakit? bakit? bakit?  Paano mananalo ang Mrs. Egyptian, samantalang nilaglag si Mr. Egyptian???  This is a conspiracy, a robbery.  Recount!  hahaha.

2. A FOR EFFORT
As predicted, PB will always step-up maski ano ang ipagawa.  So maski na ilang beses na tayong mag-cheering competition, mag-Pinoy Henyo, at magpagalingan career na career pa rin.

Team Imelda - pinamalas nila kung paano mag-cheer ang mga welgista.  Iyong parang nag-ne-negotiate ng CBA sa mga factories.  Kakaiba talaga.
Team Pakyaw - sobrang galing ng entrance.  sobrang galing ng exit.  Iyon lang.  hahaha
Sparkling Team - dapat talaga ito ang nanalong cheering ...nung Christmas party 1980!

3. FOOD
Nice Nice menu - lunch and dinner.  Puwedeng ipa-spelling contest ang mga dishes - CORDON BLEU ang tamang spelling kasi nga French dish.   Very solid and complete line-up - may chicken, may beef, may pork, may veggies, may dessert at meron pang on-the-spot na fish.  Pang golden party talaga.

4. THE KIDS STOLE THE SHOW

We know how Gab, Miguel and Joshua's dance performances were most applauded.  Not because they performed, but they performed really well.  Todo bigay sa pag-JUMP AROUND, sa pagpapakita ng BABY GOT BACK at sa pagsasayaw ng laseng with TUB THUMPING.

and here is the QUARTET to watch out for.  Di na kailangan pang pilitin, aba sila na ang nag-volunteer magsayaw.  At one point nga umiiyak si Pia, pero humahataw pa rin ng Nobody Nobody.

Here you go:  the future Ms.  Philippines Ashlie and the English-speaking trio of Kacey, Pia and Tehya.

5. WISH KO LANG

Tito Jorge and Tita Helen had a very unique pilahan by granting everyone's wishes.  A very thoughtful gesture indeed.  I can't talk about other people's wishes, pero my wish was granted - to a T!  I received a very nice book published by Newsweek magazine - about the Airline Industry.  And of course, my projects are in the airline industry.  Saktong sakto.  I also heard about other people saying sobrang love nila ang gift nila.  Thanks Tito Jorge and Tita Helen, and may your business continue to prosper - para mas marami pa kayong wishes to be granted.

Generous = Tita Edith.  So many many thanks again for the gesture of generosity.  Ako'y na-shock sa natanggap kong papila.  Actually yung iba hindi na na-surprise.  Kung merong analogy, siguro si Tita Edith ay parang Seiko:  Seiko Wallet dahil siya ay masuwerte at nagbibigay ng suwerte.  Para rin siyang Seiko films - if it's from Tita Edith it must be good at marami.  hahaha.  Many thanks Tita Edith.

6.  DANCING WITH THE SISTER

Here is a challenge for you:  Sa buong mundo, ihanap nyo ako ng madreng missionary na nagsasayaw ng JaiHo sa Family Christmas Party.  OK, time's up.  Malamang sa PB lang yan.

Inferness to Sr. Vicky, sabay pa ang dance step nya o.  The dance costume really worked - especially with the matching GOLDEN BINDI (yun sa noo). 

7. EXCHANGE GIFT 

According to the PB Poll, for the past 5 years, 75% of PB were not happy with their gifts.  So, when things  fail get back to the basics.   Na parang naging mas OK.  Plus coupled with the wishlists - sino pa ang hindi matutuwa sa natanggap nilang gifts - e yun ang hiningi nila di ba?  So a really nice exchange gift this year.

8. THE WEBCAST

Expect the 3Gs to come up with the most technologically savvy ideas.  For the very first in the PB Christmas History, we have a global party.  Kasamang naki-party sa Las Pinas ang Canada, California, Singapore and Japan.  Nice!

So kung meron mang kulang o puwedeng i-improve.  Sana talaga may definite programme and dedicated time for our ka-PB sa ibang bansa.  You could only imagine, matapos magpuyat at mag-abang ng matagal.  It could get really boring.  Kung ang mga PB nga sa Las Pinas e matagal naghintay ng susunod na mangyayari, isipin nyo na lang iyong mga nasa ibang bansa. 

Pero since this is the first time, merong pang chance to get better the next time.

9. PAR's SPEECH

 Bago sya mag-speech, naisip ko na - naku merong iyakan dito.  Pero when he started his first 2 sentences - sabi ko ah parang wala na siguro.  Isa pa, yung mga 1G na puro "Happy Birthday" ang sinabi hehe.  Pero Ate's speech was also touching, and syempre lalo na yung kay Sr. Vicky.  So maybe that set the tone. 

Par sincerely thanked everyone in PB for the tribute.  Sinabi niya na nagustuhan talaga niya ang mga performances and the videos.  He also mentioned about his friends and family that he made over 50 years. 

Unique think about Par is the connection and relationship that he has made.  Kitang-kita yun sa mga videos and with what the close people said in the videos.  It's amazing how Par has completely connected with friends over the years, ilang High School classmates niya ang nagsabi about their friendship

Par gave a heartfelt speech that ended sincerely.  Happy 50th Birthday Par.

Tribute to Par

Ultimately, si Tito Par ang makapagsasabi kung OK ba ang tribute, kasi para sa kanya yun.  Pero Wow, I really thought the program went really well - not too short but not too long.  Sakto lang - merong dancing, merong singing, merong comedy, merong konting drama.

HOSTS
Congratulations to our hosts for doing a good job.  Thanks to Carla "Toni Gonzaga", Unyoy "John Pratts, Dianne "Tessbomb" at siyempre ang natural host na si Rap-Rap "Vice Ganda".

PB BOYS
Ako mismo'y na-shock dahil sabay-sabay ang mga dance numbers.  Ang totoo never naman kaming nag-practice ng buong sayaw, pero maski nung pinapanood sa video, ang galing talaga.  Everyone did their best and did a really really good dance presentation.

Syempre special mention talaga si Gab, Miguel and Joshua, the most applauded dance numbers.

PB GIRLS
Pang-That's Entertainment naman ang presentation ng PB Girls.  Sorry, di ko napanood ng buo, dahil busy after the boys presentation (picture and blogging).  Pero it was also very applauded and well received by the audience.   What did you think?

VIDEOS
I also love the videos!  Madalas, ang videos ang nagpapa-boring ng program.  Pero this time, it worked.  Baka dahil maikli ang videos, o kaya naman ayos ang placing ng videos sa program.  Special mention dapat ang mga Santan Boys, for delivering a shockingly funny short video.

OJ SONG (One and Jimmy - I Left My Heart in San Francisco)
Sobrang ginanahan si Tito Jim sa pagkanta, at some point nalimutan ko ngang kakanta dapat si Tito One.  Medyo mabagal nga iyong tempo ng kanta ano, di tuloy sila masyadong na-ka-emote habang kumakanta.  Pero of course benta pa rin.

Very very touching number from Kevin, Kriza, Ayka.  Pero, ang pangit palang kumanta ni Kevin haha.  The song wa very touching and the kids were fantastic.  Actually ang video rin kasi ay masaya, OK ang transitions at ang daming lumalabas na iba-iba.  So parang hihintayin mo talaga ang next.  Maski hindi masyadong familiar ang song, effective pa rin to carry the mesage.  Very nice.

SPEECHES
Ang iikli ng mga speeches this time ano?  Di ko sure kung sinasadya ba nilang iklian para di sila maiyak o ano.  haha.  Si Ditse, nagpasalamat sa lahat ng PB pamangkins nya, at sinasabing ang babait ng lahat ng pamangkin niya.   Nalimutan nga nya ng konti si Par e hehehe.

Majority sa mga speeches ng 1G ay nagsabing - Happy Birthday Par.  Iyon lang, wala nga masyadong silang masabi this time.  Ako'y shock ng konti.  Di ba usually ang dami nilang sinasabi na halos walang katapusan, so ewan nga this time bakit wala silang masyadong masabi. 

At ang favorite kong speech ay iyong:  "Ah wala na akong masabi, kasi nasabi na nilang lahat".  Haha, e puro happy birthday nga ang sinabi nila hehehe.  So iyon naman pala ang technique para mapigilan ang 1G, tawagin sila para mag-speech.  hehehe.

Ako, I forgot to recognize Tita Edith and Tita Jorge - for pushing hard for Par's 50th Birthday programme.  Of course Ayka and Kriza and Kevin did many of the legwork - from the videos, to the props, to the slides, the videos.  At umattend din ng meeting si Tito Ayo, Lola Maam, Camae, Karen at Tita Helen.

Pero si Tita Edith talaga ang nangulit mag-meeting.  Well, ng 9am, so alam nyo na ang reaksyon ko nung una.  Si Tito Jorge naman came in very well prepared.  Shock nga ako na ang dami na niyang idea, dahil ako wala pa nun hehe.

Thanks Tita Edith and Tito Jorge - ganda ng naging result.  Sana ma-experience din ng ibang PB ang maki-meeting with you especially with organizing, preparation and planning.
